Ghouls in the Graveyard

Here’s another shivery fun Atlas horror classic that I love (featuring more sinister purple cloaks!), but truth be told I have no clue who created this or what golden age series it originally appeared in as these scans are from my Crypt of Shadows #11 silver age reprint issue which contains no info to be found anywhere on any of the pages or even online. If anyone has any details PLEASE pass it on to me, thanks!

***UPDATE!*** An anonymous commentor has informed me that this story came from Adventures into Terror #12 and was illustrated by none other than Bernie Krigstein! Thanks Mr. A!
[It was titled "Horror in the Graveyard" in its original printing. -- Nequam]

  1. Just asking, does anyone think it possible that this uncredited story is NOT pre-code? There's certain things about the art style that leave me in doubt, but then at the same time there's things that are totally 50's (like the old car in the very first panel and the fact the guy is wearing a hat etc...)

I love the ghoul in the final panel who's saying "You tricked us!" Look closely old boy... I say, isn't that Terry-Thomas, but minus the gap between his two front fangs?

OH MY GOD!!!,thats none other than Bernie Krigstein(unlike Al Aedah, please say youve heard of him.) doing a half-assed imitation of Bill Everett and Joe Maneely!,and yes in deedee, this is pre-code,it's from ADVENTURES INTO TERROR#12 and the story was originally called HORROR IN THE GRAVEYARD,but the code changed it to "ghouls" to be more pc,it pissed Stan off so bad that after a while Bernie joined EC.(and made comic-book history with "master race".)but, its a great story for the crazy expressions, and if you dont believe me,check out the KRIGSTEIN ARCHIVE website, thank you so much for the post, the KA site has horrible resolution and is basically unreadable, now i can finally read the text!
