House of Vampires!

I always feel like I cheat you guys when I post a story with a Scooby-Doo ending (check out our last post), so here comes Doll Man again --and this time with darling Doll Girl too!-- to set things right around here at The Horrors of it All with a terrifying tale of REAL bloodthirsty vampires on the loose! From the February 1952 issue of Doll Man #38, art by Chic Stone and Chuck Cuidera (?)

  1. Ken and Barbie meet Vlad Tepes and his wife, I would much rather see that than Twilight.

  2. So much goodness...

    - Wouldn't 'Doll Woman' be a better fit?
    - I LOVE them at the Count's door riding the dog!
    - DM:"All things are horrible that defy the laws of nature!". Irony!

    A great one.

  3. I love how Dollman and Dollgirl simply ride up to the Count's door riding their dog as if they did this every single day.
Also, sure, Dollman covers Dollgirl's eyes when the vampires die by daylight, but not Elmo's? Why let the poor dog see that?
I wonder if Elmo got to play with their bones afterwards...

  6. Speaking of the Scooby Doo endings ... why? What's more comic-book-y then having real vampires, werewolves, etc, than a guy in a mask? For a mystery book with a cop, that's understandable, there's no supernatural element, but super-hero books? Already the supernatural exists (in super powers.). It's strange how so many of them depended on a guy in a rubber mask.

Was this the format because many of the writers read mystery novels, and many mystery novels depend on humans being the killers (it wouldn't work if it was your run of the mill vampire.)

Also: Where the hell did Doll Man get the hammer and nails? And when did he really nail down the coffins? Come on, editors!
