Unholy Trinity

Today, May 26th is Peter Cushing’s birthday. I’ll save my breath on a bio introduction because the man simply does not need one. I’ll hold my breath a little longer and kill a couple more birds with one post, because not only is tomorrow (the 27th) also Christopher’s Lee birthday, but he shares this most awesome event with the ever magnificent Vincent Price!

Good god, if you ever needed a reason to break your damn diet and eat some cake and ice scream, today and tomorrow are THE days to praise three of the greatest actors of all time!

  1. I knew it was Cushing's b-day, but Vincent Price and Christopher Lee's so soon? Er, I hope they like coconut cake as much as I do.

I believe I'll eat a gooey butter cake or two. Make that two sinister gooey butter cakes. I'll have to watch House of Long Shadows and Scream and Scream Again today.

  3. The fact that their birthdays are so darn close together is actually pretty cool.

These three gentlemen are among my favorite actors of all time.

  6. You know it's gonna be a weird day when the birthday post starts off getting more comments than the pre-code post. Of course look who we're talking about though...

I felt bad photoshopping John Carradine out of this great pic of them all, but alas his b-day is in Feb (which we apparently overlooked.) And for you western fans today is John Wayne's birthday too.

My birthday is on May 24th. I always took great pride in the fact that three of my all-time favorite actors were fellow Gemini's like myself.
