  1. UNACCEPTABLE.

As the moderator of a public blog you are OBLIGATED to maintain complete functionality of your blog at all times. This failure to provide content represents a shameful breach of contract.

If this state of affairs continues, legal proceedings may be initiated; questions may be asked in Parliament - at the very least, I can assure you that a sternly-written letter to the editor will appear in tomorrow's Windsor Falls Post Dispatch.

I expect to be compensated for this inconvenience with some especially grisly pre-code shockers.

  3. The new interface is amazingly-buggy.
I'm slowly getting the hang of it, but posting tskes at least twice as long as it used to!
    Irritating as hall...

  4. New Blogger needs to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. I'm seriously considering moving over completely to WordPress, where my own comic strip is already hosted. I wonder who the hell came up with this Blogger "upgrade" and thought it was a good idea.

  5. It's so weird. Everything looks and works pretty much the same from this end, except Blogger used to open files with a little tag at the end of the URL--right before the file name--that displayed images at a height of 1600p (whether that was the full size or not, it turns out). And now it does not do that anymore. This means that when you click on the image link, you get the compressed display thumbnail blogger automatically makes when you upload, and if you right click and select "view image," you see that thumbnail, but somewhat enlarged to whatever your template asks it to display at on the main page.

It's possible to add that tag manually (it looks like this: s1600/ ), and you can even change it to display larger, up to the original file size. For example, I can see the images of the latest AEET post up to 1885p in height. In the past, they would have opened reduced some, to 1600p, but not so much it mattered. But I've been adding the tag /s5000/ to these URLs, just to see if they will display larger than 1600, and often I can see an even larger size. Turns out it doesn't matter how *large* the size value in that tag is, it will only change the display size to reduce. But the tag is necessary to show images displayed up to the size of the original file.

Why blogger automatically included that tag in the URL before, and why they do not include it automatically now, is a big mystery to me. But I feel like it would be possible to add that tag manually into the HTML for the post, same as any other web address. This may be the workaround other users are using. Or there may be something easier I can't divine yet.

  6. "Or maybe there may be something I can't divine yet" I was looking at this sentence and thought, well, with it being "The Horrors of It All" and the first of October, there must be a dark version of the word "divine"as in:
may be something easier I can't *infern* yet ?

Ah well in any case I hope things are well and sort themselves out for Mr Karswell! I am a devoted stalker of THOIA

  10. Thanks to everyone that continues to write in and check in, unfortunately the blogger issues that keep me from delivering high quality scans to you persist, and I don't feel like wasting anyones time with a blog that is not 100% up to par. I will continue to occasionally post at AEET, the format lay-out allows me to post larger images on the main page that don't necessarily require them to be clicked on to enlarge-- although it would be nice if it worked there as well! I'll toss some precode horror up over there as well. It's just super frustrating that this update was mandatory, and moral of this sad story is: if something ain't broke, don't pretend to fix it.

  11. I love your blog and will keep checking up.
Have you thought of switching to the server that Fifties Horror has?
(the link is on the Horrors of It All's right side)
I like it that you are looking for the largest image possibility.
    Clarity is a great goal.
As o possibility to show one day, the undergrounders in the sixties did some comics that were fashioned after fifties horror comics, by people that grew up with them.
Some of them were good and some weren't.
Spain, Jim Osbourne, Corben, and some others did a pretty good job.
If you don't have any, I could scan somme for you if you want.
I have a couple of them.

  18. I appreciate the people that continue to check in and write in, but unfortunately things are still fucko with uploading scans here, so in the meantime, as mentioned, head over to my other blog (linked below) which is formatted so the main page images are larger-- though be warned that clicking on them reduces the size for some stupid reason. You should still be able to enjoy the posts there, featuring lots of horror as well as a mix of all things I find interesting. Thanks again :)
