The composition in that panel is just pitch perfect. Aside from his wonderful skill as a pure artist, his skill in composition matched it. It seems simple, but the black to light, with the fish-bubbles-fish and the rocks vs the host are all balanced.
Outside of comedy and all-out horror ones, I know comics so haphazardly, but even I know the early issues of Monster of Frankenstein and Fear with the Man-Thing well.
One of the great artists. R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteWe lost another great. Rest in peace, Bernie.

ReplyDeleteI still treasure my first edition of this.

Another great is gone, his work will live on, and his family, friends and fans become living memorials to one so talented as he.
ReplyDeleteRIP
