The fourth and final bedeviling tale in our full issue presentation of the June 1952 issue of The Beyond #12 (see the previous three posts for all of them) --you have to admit, while not the best written stories, these certainly are inspired and over the top, containing really nice artwork (today's story art by Richard Case.) Seems with Ace Magazines, the more bat shit the concepts the more entertaining the issue. This'll wrap things up for Feb 2014-- lots more coming up!

Trail of the Phantom Gypsy
A nice 'n spooky tale full of weird moments and atmospheric art from the June 1952 issue of The Beyond #12. You don't need a crystal ball to see we're in the midst of another full issue presentation here a THOIA-- and one more tale to go! See ya in a few from the bedeviling wrap-up!

Victims of the Twin Scourges
Paul Naschy fans will no doubt enjoy the wildly madcap, completely non-sensical combo of werewolves and vampire women in our second story presentation from the June 1952 issue of The Beyond #12, --and just like our last post this tale also features the awesome art collaboration of Lou Cameron and Rocco Mastroserio. Rounding it all out with another True Tale of the Supernatural one page filler quickie as well... yep, two stories down, two to go!

The Witching Well
Lou Cameron and Rocco Mastroserio collaborated on two mindlessly fun tales from the June 1952 issue of The Beyond #12, (sometimes it really is all about the art) --I'll have them both for you over the next few posts, as well as the fun Ace filler one-pagers and maybe even the other stories from this issue, we'll see how things go...

House of Blood / Junk Man's Treasure
Thai student "MP" writes in requesting an Eerie Publications remake called House of Blood with art by Ruben Marchionne. Unfortunately, I didn't have it, but a quick screech for help to Mike "Weird World of Eerie Publications" Howlett and suddenly we are in business! Howler's scans come from the January 1972 issue of Horror Tales Vol. 4 #1-- and since the story itself is so short, I thought I'd round it out with an encore presentation of the original precode version (as featured here at THOIA back in 2007) called Junk Man's Treasure, from the August 1954 issue of Out of the Shadows #14.

The Torture Chamber
Another Gene Colan horror hit from the eerie Atlas archive-- penned by Stan the Man, and this time from the April 1952 issue of Astonishing #12. And speaking of archives, check the THOIA archive for all of the other stories in this issue: Horror Show, The Man Who Was Afraid, A Playmate for Susan, and Date With Death! Yes, we slam the coffin lid down on another full issue presentation!

Stop the Presses / Man in the Tomb!
Yes-- by all means, stop the presses because there's a man in the tomb! The Tomb of Darkness to be exact, and it's the March 1975 issue of Tomb of Darkness #13 to be even exacter. But stop the presses again because these are reprints that originally appeared in the September 1952 issue of Mystic #12! And for a third stoppage of the pressings, our first story is illustrated by Mean Gene Colan, one of the biggest guns in the history of Marvel / Atlas horror! Shall we stop the presses for a fourth time by revealing the back-up story features Bob Fujitani pencils? Of course! And STOP. THE . PRESSES to infinity because we've also got covers from Sol Brodsky and Sal Buscema too! Man, what a great double header post!!!
