The Catch

ReplyDeleteI will admit I like the occasional post code comic on this site. It shows how each decade of comics portrayed horror a different way without running afoul with the comics code.
The fifties post codes shifted strongly away from horror, the sixties comics gradually showed a bit more in the way of horror without crossing the line, the seventies moved more towards the roots of horror (depending on the publisher and artists, of course.)
Each decade became more and more daring until we arrived at the horror comics of today.

Again, I like the art in this one. It seems less like an artist well trained in horror art but one more trained in advertising or types of comics, and it works well for another type of "sweet" horror story.

Hey, glad you guys are digging this issue, I'll have the final two tales in our next post-- yep, another full issue presentation here at THOIA! Then it'll be back to the pre-code stuff with another request for some ATLAS horror, it's all coming up!
