I've been promising Mr. C a werewolf story for a while now, harkening back to the early days of THOIA's "Werewolf Wednesdays", and I'm totally surprised I haven't posted this little gem yet from the 1952 issue of Tales of Horror #7 (uhhh, I haven't posted this one before, have I?) Also, Craig Yoe and I would like to thank all the great people who came out to San Diego Comic Con this past weekend and showed their undying support for our ZOMBIES book, which incidently SOLD OUT at the IDW booth before the weekend was even over! We made a lot of cool new friends and met a lot of old ones; generally we just had a blast and really hope to see you all again next year! Who knows what evil horrors we still have left lurking up our scary sleeves for you?!

great story made me get an erection and attack the neighbors cat keep them coming
ReplyDeleteSomething about the name 'Dinky' makes this one lose it's dramatic punch! *L*
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post!
hi Steve "Karswell" Banes is the zombies book in color? and are many of the same stories found on this blog?
ReplyDeleteLove that photograph of the good, the bad and the ugly.
ReplyDelete:-)
If Dinky wanted revenge on somebody, it should have been the printer!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your showing at SDCC!
Fantastic. I love the idea of werewolf by transference or sympathetic magic or something. Stories where the outer world starts to resemble the inner emotional landscape of the characters are what horror is all about. Thanks Mr. K!
ReplyDeleteThanks to Karswell and Mr. C for this excursion into absurdity. Here's hoping Rogers is a better fighter in about a month's time!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I LOVED this one! I could see, at the end of the tale, someone trying to get my chicken-hearted hundred pound beast Turok to help me like Caesar helped Rogers. Turok would still be running and I would have been werewolf food.
ReplyDelete>great story made me get an erection and attack the neighbors cat keep them coming
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY what I was hoping for!
>Something about the name 'Dinky' makes this one lose it's dramatic punch!
Gave you more of a dramatic pat on the fanny, I guess?
>is the zombies book in color? and are many of the same stories found on this blog?
ZOMBIES is indeed in full color (except for two original inked art stories.) Some of the stories can be founded posted here at THOIA as well.
>Love that photograph of the good, the bad and the ugly.
The guy in the middle was a ZOMBIES fan who got himself a free tee shirt and opp to sit onstage with us throughout the panel. He was a cool, and very funny dude. Thanks again to him, where ever he is out there!
>If Dinky wanted revenge on somebody, it should have been the printer!
Wait'll you see the next story from the same issue-- sheesh!
>Stories where the outer world starts to resemble the inner emotional landscape of the characters are what horror is all about
I agree, Mr C!
>Thanks to Karswell and Mr. C for this excursion into absurdity.
*changes name of blog to The Absurdity of it All"
>Turok would still be running and I would have been werewolf food.
Haha, coming soon-- PART TWO!
Thanks for the comments, gang! More from this issue coming up next!
