It's been a few years since I posted a Dr. Thirteen "Ghost-Breaker" story, so here's a weird one, originally presented in the January 1952 issue of Star Spangled Comics #124, art by Leonard Starr.
>but not warn people that the ledge is booby-trapped?!
In the very last panel Dr. 13 says "I'm going to see that structural changes are made at the base..." this is where the trigger is that causes the ledge to tilt when someone enters the tower below. It's sort of vague, but the way I read this is that the ledge won't tilt unless someone is actually entering the tower.
I like this Dr. Thirteen character. He is both smart and vulnerable to danger, and this makes him believable (at least in the comics world). I would like to see more adventures of Dr. Thirteen and his wife.
What I would really like, no, love, would be a story with Sun Girl!!!
One question: Why, besides the fact that this is an *American* comic book, is the warning in English; not Spanish and/or the local Indian tongue; (if it has a written form)?
Wait... they're going to block the hypnotic visual effect of the river but not warn people that the ledge is booby-trapped?!
