It!

It’s been about 7 months since I posted a Bob Powell story, so as long as we’re in hair-raisin' Harvey terror-tory howz'about a gooey one from the May 1952 issue of Witches Tales #10. I especially like the color goof at the bottom of page 2, panel 5… um, sorry chums but that’s NOT her belly button!

And while you’re at it, why not take a walk back through the THOIA Archives and check out another equally icky Powell classic—THE WALL OF FLESH! I posted this one back in Feb of 2008, and it’s the perfect companion piece to It! And for anyone interested there’s TONS more Powell in the archives as well, just use the search engine at the top of this blog.

haha -- I think that AIEEEs lose their passion when you've got eight or nine of them in a story. Is this a comic book record of AIEEEs?

Good Powell story. A lot of standard elements, but he's always so inventive with his drawing that it's a really entertaining read. and I like how these dumb monsters keep going out into the snow and killing themselves. They are truly disgusting-looking things.

    Thanks for posting it.

'There are pictures within pictures for children who know how to look'.

I didn't have to make any effort!!! That miscoloration is one of the most bizzare coincidences of all time.

"The schwein..." That's the worst insult he can think of for those things? Considering their current state, that's really more of a compliment, isn't it?

  10. PS: Figures I'd post this story on the same day it's revealed that film makin' flub Rob Zombie might remake the Blob. Here comes a very passionate AIEEEE!

    "AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

  11. It's not as easy to turn the computer upside down for the answers as it is a comic book!

The Powell story was awesome,as most of his works are. I thought being a teacher was dangerous enough with school shooters; now I have to worry about blood-sucking slime monsters!
