  1. "He's been making some new friends lately..older men." Well, golly gee! What do you think ol' Roger is doing in that private shack out in the back yard? Ugh!

What a strange story. Drawn in a faintly "bigfoot" style, with lots of comedic elements (what's with that raccoon?) and yet people are getting murdered left and right! And what kind of father would just stand by and let his son hang out with grown men in his own backyard? Perhaps most bizarre of all is the monologue on Roger's mutant status from a guy whose only other lines in the story are a few "ughs." I guess he's from a Native American tribe that travel (or at least sees) into the future.

Finally, how cool is this "Falseface" fella? A criminal who's constantly pulling one mask after another off his mug, as if he doesn't even have a real face at all!!

Great stuff. By the way, art "Carl Hubbell?" Really? Hall of Fame pitcher, and he can draw like this? I wonder if he could pay the banjo, too.

  5. I guess 1953 wasn't the carefree idylic world I imagined it once being. A permissive Father goes Beserk strangling his psycopathic murderous offspring while his school chums urge him on saying " It's for the best" .... AWESOME!

I couldn't have asked for a funner post to puruse today Thank you kind sir.

  6. Glad to see a few of you commented on this one... I forgot that the last time I posted one of these fun Bob Brant stories I actually got some complaints. Can you beat that? Free scans from a golden age comic book and people complain!

  7. Spurgeon's right, I do need to bring them back! I love the little kid who keeps casually watching people die and then gets off a wisecrack.
