Hope you enjoyed our Killer Klown themed weekend (as suggested by Rob Foster), if anyone has any ideas for future themes they’d like to see just drop me a line at karswell@hotmail.com
ALL NEXT WEEK: Zombies, Cannibalism, Torture, and More!
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Berserk! ('67) CLICK FOR TRAILER (full of spoilers though!)
Starring Joan Crawford, Michael Gough, and Diana Dors
"Justice draws no line between the living and the dead" no kidding, how many total innocents does he kill?. I've never seen BERSERK but it sounds good,Crawford was an old-hat at circus horrors believe it or not;anyone seen THE UNKNOWN(not that i really had to ask.)it's my favorite Browning/Chaney collaboration.
ReplyDeleteYeesh, creepy clown logic. And, wait a minute... Bozo's gun?
ReplyDeleteI like the ad at the end - with free preforming chameleon. I actually won my first anole at our county fair years and years ago. I wonder how many kids lost their little lizard when they tried to make him sit on their shoulder? Those little guys are fast!
ReplyDeleteThis circusfolks sure are jeleous - and not very bright. Yesterdays mentally unbalanced Killer, now today the bright idea to knife a ghost.
ReplyDeleteNice Weekend, Karswell :-)
I kept waiting for a twist, like Medon having dressed up himself as Bozo each time. But it was just plain dead-clown retribution!
ReplyDeleteI agree with horror pariah - too many dead innocents for this to work as a "justice from beyond the grave" story (not that it had to be one).
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat good 'ol Dead-Clown Retribution, Wings!
ReplyDelete>I've never seen BERSERK but it sounds good
It's a very entertaining, colorful horror film HP, with lots of great circus kills... it's on TCM all the time, just check your guide (also I just added the trailer to the post under the Berserk poster.) And of course Killer Klowns from Outer Space is alot of fun too, me and Dr Phibes were just talking about it last night. I've been told that the TV version of Stephen King's IT is really good (Tim Curry in particular as Pennywise), I haven't seen it though.
Oh, I always plan to include more classic ADS with alot of these posts (per Absinthe's comment), but seem to forget. I have a huge folder of golden age AD scans, if this is something that you guys 'n gals really like to see let me know and I'll make a better effort to remember to post them. Thanks to everyone stopping by this weekend, tomorrow marks the start of some really great Weird Mysteries stories. Don't miss 'em!
LOVE THE ART ON THIS ONE BUT LIKE THE OTHERS MENTIONED I'M NOT SURE WHY ALL THE INNOCENT PEOPLE HAD TO DIE.....BUT IT MADE IT ALL MORE WEIRD AND SPOOKY, LIKE AFTER DEATH HE BECAME AN UNCONTROLLABLE SPIRIT. OR MAYBE HE DID HAVE A BEEF WITH THE OTHERS SINCE NOBODY LIKES A CLOWN ANYWAY AND WAS GETTING BACK AT THEM TOO.
ReplyDeleteBERSERK IS COOL, I'VE WATCHED IT MANY TIMES BUT I CANT BELIEVE THE TRAILER SHOWS YOU ALL THE BEST DEATH SCENES!!!
I was not at all troubled by the innocent deaths in today's story, because I remember philosopher Conrad DesCart's most famous line; "I kill therefore I am... funny!"
ReplyDeleteI love the ads. I'd like to see a lot of them. All of them. The only reason I never comment about the ads is because they are in the same posts with the stories, and so I forget.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking!
more ads!
ReplyDeletefourth panel, last page- if Descart wasn't a ghost and therefore immaterial, i would swear those guys were doing something naughty up there on the high wire!
Medon's another for the Dimbulb Killer file. Spends the day gloating over his vile plan, does the deed and then it strikes him that his business partner's strangled corpse might be an itsy witsy bit suspicious.
ReplyDeleteI may be cynical, but I'd think that after three spectacularly horrible onstage deaths, business would be booming. Other circuses would probably start killing their performers just to compete.
Forget lines between the living anf the dead. What sort of Justice draws no line between the innocent and the guilty? The Horror Pariah is right.
ReplyDeleteThis one's more like a Japanese ghost story, where instead of just coming back for their murderer, the ghost comes back pissed off at everyone.
