The Man Who Talked to Ghosts!

Here’s another spooker from the January 1953 issue of Strange Tales #14. This is a damn good issue all around, keep checking back for more stories from this one in the months to come. And today marks the start of a 5-day THOIA Ghost Stories Marathon too!

    All those strong reds and blues and greens and yellows are striking. Someone had no use for muted tones.

    Ah, Stan Lee. He never thought much of subtlety.

    So what does the guy want to do? Scare her to death?

    There really are just two types of woman in these stories, or? The damsel in distress who has to be saved from the Wolpire or the money grubbing black widow. This really seemed to be influenced from the B-Movies of the time. Just before the backlash of the familiy-friendly.

    Good story ; quite interesting the ending ; unlinke in most of these stories we don't know for sure if the villainess gets the punishment she deserves ...

    I ACTUALLY KNEW A GIRL IN SCHOOL WITH A CRAZY WIDOWSPEAK LIKE THAT, EVERYONE CALLED HER THE BRIDE OF DRACULA. SHE WASNT THAT CUTE THOUGH. COOL STORY.

    Thanks! A Stan Lee story I hadn't actually read. A bit of a weird thing, as most of his stories were either 7 ot 8 pages or three. As to who the artist is? I want to say John Romita, but I can't really. I'll have to compare at my ease.
