  1. Everybody smokes in Hell
The decor's just like a bad hotel and casino
And everybody swears they're just in Reno
    Instead of eternally damned
    But what's the difference

  6. Pappy, this picture... Soooo cool!

As for the comic, am I the only one who blushes when I look at panel 5 on the last page?

As for the lyrics, please accept Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven... BACKMASKED!!!!!

"Oh here's to my sweet Satan.
    The one whose little path
    Would Make me sad
    Whose power is Satan.
He will give those with him 666.
    There was a little toolshed
    Where He made us suffer
    Sad Satan."

    :P

What he should have said, in a scary voice is:

I am not one of you. I come from an ancient time.
I am known as The Kicker of Elves. I am also known as The Angel Crusher!

  8. Kitty,

At least he wasn't naked like in the next story! That same shot would have been tough to take.

  9. Wow! Voting on this post too? I only meant the Weird Worlds stories this week but that is cool of everyone to go for the extra bonus points.

This was alot of fun and I hope everyone else had funz too. We'll be sure to do this again for sure, and thanks again to everyone who participated.

From Kotheimer to M.O.D., to Guided by Voices meets Tenacious D (weither Phibes realized it or not), this post seemed the most varied in weirdness, capping it off with Kitty getting all cleverly backmasked on us (why didn't I think of that?) Anyway, the votes are being tallied and The Princess has submitted her faves so far, just waiting on Patrick. And though you're all winners in my book, find out who really wins tomorrow.

And this weekend it's KILLER time. Wait, I mean STUPID KILLER time... yep, terrifying tales starring the numbskulliest killers ever caught on comic book paper. Plus some supernatural funnies with Vic Martin and the usual gaggle of horror odds 'n ends. Don't miss.

This is little more than thread necromancy, but there's a set of lyrics that sooooo fit this comic:

    1st verse:]
    Down below
    Down Below
Sat the devil talking to his son
    Who wanted to go
    Up above
    Up above
He cried, "It's getting too warm for me down here and so
I'm going up on Earth where I can have a little fun
The Devil simply shook his head and answered his son:
Stay down here where you belong
The folks who live above you don't know right from wrong

To please their kings they've all gone out to war
And not a one of them knows what he's fighting for

'Way up above they say that I'm a Devil and I'm bad
Kings up there are bigger devils than your dad

They're breaking the hearts of mothers
    Making butchers out of brothers
You'll find more hell up there than there is down below

-- Irving Berlin, "Stay Down Here Where You Belong" (1914)
