"The Man-Eater"

More gruesome sci-fi horror for you today, (see the space ships on the first page? Yeah, that means “sci-fi” here at THOIA.) And as you can also see, pages 4 and 5 have a small corner chunk of artwork missing (thanks corner-eater!) Annoying, but doesn’t affect the story at all.

From the January 1952 issue of Astonishing #8

REALLY COOL TALE.......LOVE THE WEIRD SHAPESHIFTING SPACE BATS, LIKE SOMETHING WOLVERTON WOULD HAVE COME UP WITH.

LOVE THE ART. YOU EVER POSTED A STORY BY THIS GUY BEFORE? ATLAS HAD SO MANY AMAZING ARTISTS.

  4. It's not "The Thing" but the aliens are among us paranoia works well in this one.

  5. Heh. Predictable but effective. I kind of like how they never bothered to resolve or explain it.

  7. That's about it for our Sci-Fi weekend, hope you enjoyed it. I guess this is a good time to also mention that if you liked these Atlas tales then you're gonna love the coming week as I present the third issue in it's entirety from Mon thru Fri--- Adventures into Weird Worlds #10! This one is FULL of great tales from Vic Carrabotta, Bernie Krigstein, Paul Cooper, Bill Everett, and more! Ghouls and Killers and Demons! Oh my!

    You have been warned!
