From the Dec-Jan ‘52/’53 issue of Eerie #10

PS: Happy 4th of July everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday (don't blow your hands or head off!) and whatever you do don’t miss the excellent pre-code Jack Cole horror classic that Ger posted yesterday over at his blog--- it’s a killer diller from Web of Evil #9.

Cerberus deserves his own spinoff sitcom.
ReplyDeleteGreat !Seems the plot for an Ed Wood movie !
ReplyDeleteThanks
Cerberus looks muppetish to me, but Death unmasked gave me an actual jolt. A nod to Chaucer's "Pardoner's Tale" here, methinks.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Jack Cole story at Ger's. I've never seen a vengeful ghost enjoy himself that much. :)
I liked today's final offering from that issue of Eerie, Karswell, but I'm particularly impressed with the cool design for your inaugural t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteMake mine a XXL!
Hilariously random, love Cerebus.my favorite parts though are the gothic castle in the middle of the jungle,as well as the fact that stupidity and weakness are damnable sins,if so i know where a lot of film critics and politicians are going.
ReplyDeletePROBABLY MY LEAST FAVORITE OF THE EERIE STORIES THIS WEEK BUT STILL A WINNER ON WILD FACTOR ALONE. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT FULL ISSUE AND THANKS FOR THE LINK TO GER'S COOL BLOG AND ANOTHER COLE STORY! 4TH OF JULY JUST GOT BETTER
ReplyDeleteMan, that was one awesomely random story.
ReplyDeleteA death ray that kills everyone on the planet? Emanating from a precise geographical location? A machine that can detect and track it?
The writing is great, too. "I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling of danger!" Maybe it's because you're at the precise location from which death emanates?
And I like the misdirected speech balloon on p5. George is rushing Trask to kill him while simultaneously begging not to be killed.
But the icing on the cake is Satan's superhero costume. I like Death's cape and matching Satan logo belt buckle in the splash. It's a shame those got left out.
Great comments today, and glad to hear everyone enjoyed Eerie #10 in it's entirety. As mentioned the next full issue begins on the 14th but you'll just have to wait to see what it is... though I will tell you that it's from a series never before posted here at THOIA.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow begins a 2-day look at pranksters! And then come Monday it's time to start turning in your grave for a full week of zombie stories!
Anyway, Happy 4th everyone, see ya in the mourn!
