And here’s a whole gaggle of classic mummy trailers for you to make National Mummy Day even more enjoyable, and to help us “wrap up” this never-ending work week--- TGIF already!
these trailers condense the films nicely and make them seem much more fun than they really are. some of them as features drag on slower than the mummy himself
Anon 1: Next to embalming your enemies, tee peeing is probably the best thing to do on National Mummy Day, great idea!
Anon 2: I sort of agree about the tedium of the old Universal mummy sequels, but I still think they're pretty damn fun in a duplicate sort of way. And you must admit they're much better than the dumb Brendon Fraiser mummy movies.
This may sound like cinematic blasphemy to some, but i've always preferred Hammer's '59 MUMMY to Universals, theres just not much for me to enjoy besides the makeup and Edward Van Sloans Van Helsing routine, even Karloff(!)isn't as good as he is in THE BLACK CAT.that said,i do agree the Hammer sequels were just as silly as Universals were(with the exception of BLOOD FROM)and still miles superior to the Brendan Fraser movies...and i'll still watch every one of them tonight.
Not at all... I agree to a point, Karloff's mummy would still be the greatest mummy film ever though, even if Hammer had never made their version. I think Hammer's mummy sequels are miles better than the Universal ones though. But you know what? The Curse of Anubis episode from the original Jonny Quest series still beats them all.
AWESOME COLLECTION OF CLIPS, THANKS KARSWELL! I'M CELEBRATING NATIONAL MUMMY DAY BY TEE PEEING MY IDIOT NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE LIKE A MUMMY TONIGHT.
