SYNOPSIS: A cemetary worker discovers the apparent ability to kill people by placing a black pin over their grave plot on a wall map of the cemetary, and to resurrect them with a white pin.
I've added this trailer to compliment today's story post, and like the Web of Evil ending, I Bury the Living has a climax that some call a "cop-out", yet it's also somewhat in the same league with what happens in the climax of The Corpse Who Prowled By Night and everyone here today seems to not mind in the least bit.
I Bury the Living is one of the greatest b-horror classics of all time in my opinion, despite the non-supernatural ending. I'm sure there's a few of you who agree, and to those who have not seen this film yet I encourage you to do so immediately. It's a public domain title and easily available everywhere on DVD for $1. YOu can also watch it totally FREE online here: http://cinema.lycos.com/title/30836/i_bury_the_living
I agree. This is an excellent low budget horror film that will actually give you goose bumps. I've watched it many times over the years and I will probably watch it this weekend after seeing the trailer again now. Thanks!
MY FRIEND CALLED THE ENDING A RIP OFF AFTER I LENT THIS TO HIM AND THEN ARGUED HOW MUCH BETTER IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IF IT HAD DELIVERED SOME REAL SUPERNATURAL. HE MAY BE PARTIALLY RIGHT BUT I ARGUE THAT IT'S STILL A KILLER MOVIE WITH ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE CONCEPTS IN ANY HORROR MOVIE FROM THAT ERA OR POSSIBLY SINCE.
The suspense, atmosphere and build up is great in this movie. Good acting too. This is one of my favorites. When you look at how effective this is, think about how little budget was needed. Good writing trumphs money and effects everytime. I'm torn on the ending, but the rest is so good, I give it a pass.
