The Door

Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve posted an ENTIRE pre-code horror issue, so to kick off the month of February I’m doing just that for the next 3 days. The reality, as some of you know, is that it’s a rare thing indeed to find a single issue containing ALL post-worthy stories from front cover to back. But the August 1953 issue of This Magazine is Haunted #12 nicely fits the bill with a decent mix of weird horror and sci-fi, and some good art and writing too. So sit back and enjoy, our fest begins now… just… beyond… the… door…

This artist's style could almost equal "Ghastly" Graham Ingels.

Really love this first story, especially the artwork. Anxiously waiting to see the other stories in this issue.

TOTALLY AWESOME STORY! IF THIS IS ANY INDICATION OF THE REST OF THIS ISSUE THEN I'M TOTALLY PSYCHED! I BET SOMEONE WILL SAY THEY SAW THAT ENDING COMING BUT I SURE DIDNT!

    GORGEOUS ART TOO.

That has to be the greatest splash page ever! Countess Siroon almost looks like Barbara Steele on page 3 before she starts turning witchy in the later pages.

Wow....just wow.there's nothing i can say that hasn't been said(even the Ingels & Steele comparison),just...wow.this story is justly famous, there was even a wikipedia entry for this series and this story was described...it more than lived up to the hype.
