This is not Toth, but the very much Toth influenced Mike Sekowsky. 3ike all artists at Standard he was puched by the editor Mike Peppe to follow Toth's look. This, by the way is inn what I call Sekowsky's 'rough' style. Apparently he didn't ink his own work and he had two looks, the 'rough' and the 'slick' look. His slick look was even more Toth-like. Some stories at Timely even Toth couldn't tell the difference anymore. The 'rough' look turns up at the mid fities Timely crime books and Sekowsky's own 1955 run at Sterling (with titles such as After Dark and Captain Flash).
creepy
ReplyDeletepossibly toth?

ReplyDeleteAwesome info Ger, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis one could have used a couple more pages to flesh out the story, 2 pages definitely is not enough.
