If you possess a phobia about having your tongue ripped out… well… let’s instead quote a character from our next story: “What sort of fantastic butchery has been taking place here?” Indeed.
I love the use of shadows, silhouettes, and interesting angles here... has a very noir vibe. Whoever colored this should have their eyes ripped out though.
Have only recently discovered your blog and just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying it. Today's offering is a particular gem - I've always enjoyed comic strips set in my home town of dear old foggy England, London ("blimey, guvnor, a real pea-souper and no mistakin"). And with a queer professor (or 'queer bloke' as us limeys would call him!) as well. Brilliant!
I agree about the Hitchcock approach, very subtly handled for a very gory idea, only gripe is that the splash gives away the surprise about the robots, then again, you can't really complain about an opening with a toungeless corpse!also like the art(your right about the coloring,as Reid would say, queer)like A.C Hollingsworth but with the talent of Gene Colan.
THATS A REALLY CREEPY STORY, SORT OF TAKES THE HITCHCOCK APPROACH WITH THE IMPLIED VIOLENCE HAPPENING OFF SCREEN.......VERY DARK AND EFFECTIVE.

ReplyDeleteI saw that coming, but it was a good one nonetheless.
