The Village Graveyard

Russ Heath fans rejoice! If you visited Pappy's yesterday you saw a very fine example of science fiction horror (click HERE), so today I'm presenting even more Heath terror for your precious blog dollar, but our tale stays planted firmly on Earth soil--- six feet under in fact! And if you're a fan of "headlights" you may find something else to rejoice about as well.

From the Spring 1952 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #4

Great story! I'd probably find this one way more scary if I weren't so temporarily blinded by those sumptuous hi-beams!

AT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS LOOKED MORE LIKE BILL EVERETT.....THAT FINAL PANEL IS REALLY SPOOKY, EVEN WITH HER HANDS ON HER HEADLIGHTS.

Well,if thats what vampires look like, maybe the weirdos who call Van Helsing the real villain in DRACULA have a point!(no puns intended)also, speaking of Bill Everett along with the guy who always writes in caps, how about doing us a favor some time and posting an Everett story, after all,we've been coming to this blog as long as anyone(it's me!,the really long post/Horror pariah guy.)else....just after headlights week.

  7. >how about posting an Everett story

I can do that no problem... it might be more like early December though as I have something else planned for the last weekend of November.

Maybe All Caps Guy could finally pick a blogger name instead of always be anonymous?

  13. i'm a huge fan of headlights, but i also love the "cursed" and the "living dead" . This one has all elements of perfection.

I can read these old dark house type stories, like, forevah. Excellent find.
