Like yesterday’s post, this tale takes place at the moving picture show too... only, our madman’s intentions today are quite different. This leaves me asking one simple question: Is that an ancient Amazonia bipennis in your pocket, or are you just happy to kill me?
From the May 1954 issue of Mystic #30
Very EC! But not really horror, I know it fits into your movie theme this week but it's more like a crime comic.
ReplyDelete>but it's more like a crime comic.
ReplyDeleteSo?
Nothing wrong with having a non-supernatural story sometimes. And I can't think of another story where the main character talks back to the captions.
ReplyDeleteA nice film noir story.
ReplyDeleteSeriously this is really old, but really interesting, please post more if you can...
ReplyDelete>Seriously this is really old
ReplyDeleteYou do understand the point of my blog right? 50's pre-code comics... of course the stories are going to be old.
>please post more if you can...
I post stories everyday.
Well,i admit it's a bit of a let-down for a "mystic" title, but Atlas never followed their titles much, all that aside,it's great.love the scenes of Warren arguing with the narrator, nice slap in-the-face to assholes who complained about 2nd person narration back then, and the set-up is almost Hitchcockian,i also notice in some panels,Warren looks like Jack Nicholson!.
ReplyDeleteSry Bro I didn't mean to be rude earlier. I was just joking. Just keep up the good work. Like to see more of it.
ReplyDelete>I didn't mean to be rude earlier.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you were being rude, your comment just seemed a little confused about what I'm posting. No biggy, we're all ball busters around here.
Tomorrow it's a double post DD attack! No, not Daredevil--- Ditko and Disbrow! See ya in the morn!
Another TV-themed story you could post is The Invasion from Witches Tales #21 (reprinted in Shocking Tales Digest - I have this version but not the original).
