Revenge of the Haunted

I’ll admit up front that Hand of Fate is my least favorite ACE series, mostly because of the occasionally intrusive, overly yappy, hooded ghost narrator who has the annoying habit of popping right into the action at the last minute and affecting the story outcome. It’s a shameful, weak plot device, but thankfully Lou Cameron saves the day here with his always gorgeous art and non-stop monster pummlin’ thrills!

From the December 1953 issue of Hand of Fate #21

IF BIFF STONE WASN'T SUCH A DEATH DESERVING DICK HE PROBABLY COULD HAVE GOT HIS OWN COMIC BOOK SERIES THE MONSTER HUNTER!! COOL STORY AND CAMERONS ART IS EXCELLENT AS ALWAYS BUT I AGREE THE GHOST NARRATOR NEEDS TO STAY OUT OF THINGS

  2. Tomorrow's post is also from Hand of Fate and you'll all be glad to hear there's no ghost narratin' climax killer spoiling the fun with his finger of fate.

OK, look at the mer-monster's face closely in the fifth panel page 5(the eyes and lips mostly) the panel where he's got his "filthy flappers" on Biff, anything look familiar? Also remember that this story came out one year before Creature from the Black Lagoon hit the silver screen...

i don't mind the ghost narrator that much but i can see how he'd get annoying after you read multiple stories......sometimes hes also stating the obvious

You pointed out in another post the tough talking hardboiled dialog that could only have come out of the 50's and this one is another good example of that brand of fantastic writing.

What an asshole! cool to see a story where the "hero" is a complete dick and the "monsters" are mostly innocents(i wonder if he picked on Carrie White in high school and "saved" the hermit from Frankenstein's monster.),i didn't mind the host, but i really wanted to see a better ending without him causing it.poor Pesca.would you refuse royalty with a hot merwoman who's topless?,or did just i notice?
