The entire series run of Mister Mystery got off to a great start with this spooky tale of murderous twinsanity--- or is it something else even more sinister? Prepare yourself for 5 fright filled pages of what pre-code horror is all about!
From the September 1951 issue of Mister Mystery #1
ahhh ya snuck a bonus story in here today!!!! almost missed it, always wanted to see what these mr mystrys were like...... now i know!!! there great!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove the word TWINSANITY too!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I’m not sure what happened here exactly because I posted The Dead Awaken first thing Monday morning (today), but somehow it appeared in the blog as being posted yesterday (Sun.) Then I added the Creepshow news and it appeared correctly as an update for today… so, noticing I had no story post for today I went ahead and added HAND which then somehow appeared as a yesterday post?!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how these internal date/timer things work? My blog hasn’t told the right time of a posting since day one.
>love the word TWINSANITY too!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWish I could take credit for that word, I love it too... but actually I stole it from a Judy Geeson movie from England called Goodbye Gemini (1970.) "Twinsanity" is the much more imaginative and typically obnoxious US release version title.
theres a video game called crash twinsanity.....makes more sense though coming from an old horror movie
ReplyDeleteHave wondered about Mister Mystery for a very long time. Thank you.
ReplyDeletehahahaha :D
ReplyDeleteOl' Mister Mystery! The only pre-code horror host that can get into a party!
ReplyDeleteSo, then, why did his brother hate him? And why did his triplet? Why is Mister Mystery so happy about mayhem and destruction? Questions we will never answer!
First great month!
This is a variant of "In the X-Ray," whose authorship I forget. In the original story the twins are female.
