He was a good editor and not so good a writer, IMHO.Max the drunken severed headhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373555992387523559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-24136261104107288982007-11-25T21:22:00.000-06:002007-11-25T21:22:00.000-06:00Now that was scary. Carpenter on the other hand really captured the book's shivery atmosphere of isolation, confusion, and claustrophic terror better than them all. The only other film I can think of that even comes close to that atmosphere is A Cold Night's Death starring Robert Culp and Eli Wallach, an excellent and very scary made for TV movie from '73: http://imdb.com/title/tt0068390/Mr. Karswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15889717828895556186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-1617671049795361372007-11-25T15:16:00.000-06:002007-11-25T15:16:00.000-06:00Yeah,i agree about the dialog, and the humorous end...Yeah,i agree about the dialog, and the humorous ending isn't too good, but yeah, very faithful adaption except for the abscence of Macready(yeah,he IS a real character in the story).and the art may not be moody enough, but the snow & ice LOOKS like snow & ice at least.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-75252849699147516642007-11-25T14:23:00.000-06:002007-11-25T14:23:00.000-06:00awesome!! excellent post!awesome!! excellent post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-71605991790885151522007-11-25T12:53:00.000-06:002007-11-25T12:53:00.000-06:00Yes!!
