Rider in the Storm

A classic story you’ve likely heard before in some form or another: the hitchhiking ghost girl haunting a lonely stretch of highway. I love old legends like this, even if it does star the same exact dead girl (now a blonde) swiped from Russ Heath’s Village Graveyard story that I posted back in November HERE. Don’t believe me? Compare the very last coffin panels from both stories.

From the September 1953 issue of Adventures into Darkness #11

    A CLASSIC LEGEND FOR SURE.

I DONT REALLY UNDERSTAND PANEL SWIPES, I MEAN THE ARTISTS ARE SURELY GOOD ENOUGH ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT HAVING TO STEAL FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

  2. I agree... and although there are many pre code artists who do seriously lack the talent level of the EC and ATLAS greats, I suppose if you were gonna swipe panels or story ideas it should only come from the best.

The most shameless was Sheldon Moldoff, and there plenty of others, nice depiction of the legend,i sometimes wonder if it really happened, except it was her twin sister, now currently laughing her ass off in a rest home at how famous the legend is.
