A crazy way to kill a vampire--but fairly effective as the vampire freaks out and goes crashing out the window to his death.Glowwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01621527075382017998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-3005291762334094642018-02-08T17:57:46.746-06:002018-02-08T17:57:46.746-06:00This is another tale where we have a hero that'...This is another tale where we have a hero that's both slow to catch on (from vampires don't exist to who is the vampire) and fast to catch on (the silver trick.)

I love the more comical drawing of a vampire, at times it's less horror and more goofy rubber monster. There's a pretty large number of heads shots, and the final one on the last page looks like it might have been cut out from somewhere else in the story, or something removed.

BTW -- I love how terrible 50s dames are written -- You're floating around in a boat full of corpses, after just killing a goofy vampire. And silver is the one thing that will kill them!" Isn't that werewolves?
Actually, silver will kill a lot of supernatural creatures--it's actually quite common in a lot of these vampire comics from this era for the vampire to meet his or her demise through silver--although it needn't be bullets as the method used in this comic to dispose of the sea vampire is a rather creative one.Glowwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01621527075382017998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-5190042593273493972018-02-08T09:05:12.265-06:002018-02-08T09:05:12.265-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mestierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469030153414408109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-63044436110867975552018-02-07T23:34:29.847-06:002018-02-07T23:34:29.847-06:00I am such a sucker for these stripy Lin Streeter s...I am such a sucker for these stripy Lin Streeter splash panels (this one is so energetic! Like Battle Cat getting electrocuted on a zebra skin rug!). Combine that with honest-to-god Ben Day screens (you can tell by the fact that the 50% screens are angled lines instead of dots), and this one was a total winner with me long before I even got to the fleshy naked blond vampire fish things.Mr. Cavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01634994342702518448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-59790077966547637052018-02-07T21:34:28.819-06:002018-02-07T21:34:28.819-06:00Dirk: "Sea vampires?...that's silly...wai...Dirk: "Sea vampires?...that's silly...wait a minute, It's true!!...what's that? ...yeah, that explains it...oh God, sea vampires!!...what a crock...yet...Lord, sea vampires!!"
Dirk, do you realize the money you could make flipping real estate?
