That is exactly why I'm ...Loved your comments.
That is exactly why I'm into pre-code horror. The fun you have!
Thank you, Steve, for posting this story. Artist Bob McCarty transports really a grim mood here.
And I like to believe he influenced Reed Crandall's SHOCK classic "Carrion Death"...SpaceLordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17148837039377736652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-34160047817026176592013-09-19T00:28:05.638-05:002013-09-19T00:28:05.638-05:00PS, I see Space Lord is still keeping the bar ridi...PS, I see Space Lord is still keeping the bar ridiculously high, huh? All the evidence suggests that the art is stone excellent, but the crappy plastic plates the printer used (and cheap ink too, I suspect) really muddies it all up. I like the colors though. And speaking of colors, the cover to this ish is fantastic!

I think the story would be a lot creepier if they'd just shown this guy waking up slowly, scheming, for a page until, only halfway ambulatory, he realizes that the vultures have already eaten him to death. Oops. Guess there really are better places to slip yourself the mickey than a tower of silence.

Speaking of, one of the first places I navigated--back when Google Earth really started showing us the world in awesome resolution--was Mumbai. The satellite clarity isn't perfect (much like the panels here), but the ability to peek into the forbidden towers themselves is still pretty spine tingling. I guess that answers Mestiere's question, actually. I am very much the audience for these photos.Mr. Cavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01634994342702518448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-71808668426750632013-09-18T14:12:03.961-05:002013-09-18T14:12:03.961-05:00That "weird facts" thing might be weird,...That "weird facts" thing might be weird, but it's certainly not "facts". No where near a million, and not always to any war god.

Honestly, is our poor slob's fate all that bad? He either hangs out with other skeletons for eternity, or he's get to walk around the earth scaring the living daylights out of people. Which would you pick?

Also, if he's got eternity, he can just start stacking up stones and building a staircase. He's got forever!Brian Barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15737535617796413548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-54696367663084903702013-09-18T09:54:41.235-05:002013-09-18T09:54:41.235-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mestierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469030153414408109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-31852686365207228572013-09-18T09:29:38.473-05:002013-09-18T09:29:38.473-05:00Something else new to the web is from madman Jason...Something else new to the web is from madman Jason Willis, check out this perfectly awesome precode horror comic book commercial he created:

http://vimeo.com/74233866Mr. Karswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15889717828895556186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-58574384990897964922013-09-18T09:26:27.892-05:002013-09-18T09:26:27.892-05:00Take a drink every time the word "dead" ...Take a drink every time the word "dead" appears...Tim Whitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18072021569016967821noreply@blogger.com
