I stood on a roof once in August a couple of years back (briefly - trying to get a girlfriend's cat down). It felt like I was standing on a tar-covered frying pan. I could feel the bottoms of my shoes getting hot, and the air was all wavey in front of my eyes. I grabbed the damn cat and got off and felt the air cool immediately (to a nice, livable 98 degrees). It was like jumping off the surface of the sun. God bless you for your service. How did you ever get enough liquids inside you?Mykal Bantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148489896145024134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-73373843345670408412010-08-03T22:32:47.195-05:002010-08-03T22:32:47.195-05:00>In South Florida, it's hotter that hell wi...>In South Florida, it's hotter that hell with now.

I lived in Florida for most of 1987 Mykal, (and I was a roofer too!) so I know EXACTLY what you mean.

>I can never get enough of pre code horror.

Glad to hear it Doomed!

>CHEAP ASS LIKE ME REALLY APPRECIATES IT!!

Well, from one cheap ass to another--- you're welcome! When I was a kid, a friend of mine told me some apocryphal story that seemed to get up a good head of steam, and then all of a sudden "...as he ran away, he tripped and broke his neck." The end.

I wonder if his Dad wrote the script for this one?8thRayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07937233853572554500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-20236249601463801122010-08-01T11:46:49.838-05:002010-08-01T11:46:49.838-05:00I LOVE WHEN YOU POST A FULL ISSUE....... You can see the same artist at work from the later Charlton stuff - but this is (obviously) darker, far more claustrophobic and dense. At Charlton, he was often going for a more heroic tone, I think.

Great post, and thanks for putting a chill in my day with this arctic setting. In South Florida, it's hotter that hell with now.Mykal Bantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148489896145024134noreply@blogger.com
