Very fine moody, brushy artwork here. Eric Bradbury seems to have been just superb at textures and knowing just how far to take the cartooning. I dig the B-roll stuff Brian's talking about for sure--this guy gives excellent haunted landscaping--but I especially love the sixth panel on page two. What a maniac! And every panel on page three throbs with character and energy.

I'm looking forward to seeing more, too.Mr. Cavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01634994342702518448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-50436502232192417602019-07-07T16:59:40.423-05:002019-07-07T16:59:40.423-05:00I agree, super artwork and tightly written... I have to agree with Mr. B. that that is one spectacular Church/graveyard. Nice mysterious plot. Evil is somehow involved. Where is this going? Thank you Mr. K. That was fun!JBMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14108896372576732571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-79572803555788645352019-07-07T10:33:04.845-05:002019-07-07T10:33:04.845-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mestierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469030153414408109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-91070328273841916302019-07-07T09:36:27.386-05:002019-07-07T09:36:27.386-05:00You’ve commented on this post twice now, Mestiere,...You’ve commented on this post twice now, Mestiere, and I still have no idea what you actually thought of the story Mr. Karswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15889717828895556186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-16105628866515285782019-07-07T07:55:17.158-05:002019-07-07T07:55:17.158-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mestierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469030153414408109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-55809948205098891732019-07-07T07:00:42.985-05:002019-07-07T07:00:42.985-05:00@Mestiere: I think Judge Dredd blew that apart.......@Mestiere: I think Judge Dredd blew that apart....BTXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12285624914733389197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-59109250044409076662019-07-06T15:20:35.671-05:002019-07-06T15:20:35.671-05:00Saverre should have known better than to try to us...Saverre should have known better than to try to use demonic forces in or around a church, abandoned or not.

JMR777https://www.blogger.com/profile/03538238702295526065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-38293372248674752532019-07-06T14:41:01.362-05:002019-07-06T14:41:01.362-05:00Dark Lord Below is that story well illustrated. T...Dark Lord Below is that story well illustrated. The depths of the blacks, the staging, the evil house. Just gorgeous.

I love how evil Savierre is drawn, hunched over, scowling and screaming.

I'm going to disagree a bit with @mesteire. This seems to be another take on the "college kids go one by one into the house, hear screams and they disappear." In that urban legend, all the action takes place "off panel." For sure there are restrictions in what you can show, but at the same time I think the story works much better with it happening in your imagination. I suspect this was more intentional than by law, and if by law, well, then it was a lucky break.

Bottom panel of page 2 is incredible.

I'm looking forward to more from this mag.Brian Barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15737535617796413548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983171239671909762.post-55829831925836740702019-07-06T11:47:39.322-05:002019-07-06T11:47:39.322-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mestierehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469030153414408109noreply@blogger.com
