Concluding our Creepy Fest with one from Corban and Moench, from the July 1973 issue of Creepy #54. THOIA friend Trevor M sends over the scans plus an intro: "...for me the greatest masterpiece ever published by Warren, in my subjective opinion, was this surrealist story -- which certainly generated the most mail they ever got. It was also featured in the crusty professor John Adkin's Richardson's seminal cartooning book: Complete Book of Cartooning. Along with the singular Eisner page, it completely focused all us serious students on greatness possible in cartooning." Enjoy creeps! We'll see ya in April...

The Ghouls! / It!
The January 1983 issue of Creepy #144 is tagged as the "Giant Graveyard and Ghosts Issue!" and it really delivers, reprinting earlier 70's stories, as well as Frazetta's fantastic (though slightly re-colored) cover from Creepy #5. "The Ghouls", with its appetite destroying ending, is originally from Creepy #61, while Tom Sutton's awesome "It!" originally crawled forth from Creepy #53. FYI: An unfortunate printing error (?!) on a few pages of "It!" muddy some of the detail, but it's still readable, and still very worthy of posting for those of you unfamiliar with it.

The Mark of Satan's Claw
The contents page tagline for "The Mark of Satan's Claw" from the January 1972 issue of Creepy #43 warns, "Be wary of who you place your trust in." Very good advice if you too are someday planning a trip to Llangwell. (FYI: Leave the children at home!)

Forgotten Flesh / House of Bats
Keepin' things Creepy around here for a few more posts, and this one from the August 1974 issue of Creepy #64 concerning "the dregs of the dead rising up to claim the wealth and affluence they could never have in life! Up from the Earth they push; anyone in the way-- dies!" and featuring the usual super moody atmosphere from Vincente Alcazar.

17th Annual HAASHOW Highlights
Before we continue with more comic book horror classics, I thought I'd share some photos I took last weekend at the 17th Annual Halloween & Haunted Attractions Show, aka "HAASHOW" held here in STL MO. This show is a must see event for seasoned veterans or newbies involved in the world of haunted attractions, and is the only trade show that features vendors from across the nation and overseas covering every aspect of the horror business, from ticketing to makeup and sound FX to giant animatronics, masks, props, concessions, etc. Terrifying favorites: Scare Factory, Midnight Studios, CFX, Immortal Masks, Ghost Ride, Gore Galore, Poison Props, Hauntrepreneurs, and Trick or Treat Studios (who I bought a Gruesome mask from!) I also got to meet Tony Moran-- the ORIGINAL face of Michael Myers!
