Tomorrow, March 25th,
Legend House releases a double DVD featuring
Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism starring
Christopher Lee, along with
Death Smiles on a Murder starring
Klaus Kinski. While both of these Euro-horror classics have been available forever in crummy pan/scan public domain prints, this DVD promises that both are now finally available in their “first major US widescreen release.” How “major” still tends to be seen, but in my opinion both films are highly recommendable in any format.

OOOOOOO THIS LOOKS GREAT! NEVER SEEN EITHER.
Hopefully this will be worth the price, and hopefully the widescreen prints will be clean and uncut... but god the text treatment on the cover art packaging is exceptionally awful (NOTE: Just because the font has a horror name doesn't mean you have to use it.)
I agree. As much as I'm intrigued by this double feature the cover lay out is a joke. Have you looked at their website too? Terrible terrbile terrible. As are the covers of all their other releases too. Anyone know about the quality of any of these?
Hi Karswell, this is Wyatt Doyle of NewTexture.com. Along with Chris D. of the American Cinematheque, I provide audio commentary on both films.
I can confirm that the quality of the prints we viewed while recording the commentaries was very good indeed; certainly the best versions I've seen of either of these wild films.
Thanks for spreading the good word about the release. I look forward to your thoughts on the disc!
