SONY is planning a Hammer Adventure Box Set for this summer containing four rarely seen classics: Pirates of Blood River, Devil Ship Pirates, Terror of the Tongs (all 3 starring Christopher Lee) and finally Stranglers of Bombay. While it’s not Dracula, Lee fans should still find plenty here to get excited about as Tongs and Stranglers both contain plenty of great Hammer horror elements.
I’ll have more info on this set as it becomes available.

SOUNDS LIKE A FUN SET. I HAVEN'T SEN ANY OF THESE SO IT WILL DEFINITELY BE ON MY WISH LIST! THANKS!
Weird, I've never heard of any of these either, just when you think you've seen all the Hammer stuff.
I've seen STRANGLERS and PIRATES,pretty good suspense movies(even though Hammers best swashbuckler,in my opinion;is NIGHT CREATURES)i would like to see again, mainly so that I'll remember Hammer fondly after that new "Hammer" establishes itself.

I love the Captain Clegg movie too, and don't forget Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is quite the swashbuckler as well.
In case you missed it HP, Night Creatures is part of the Hammer Horror Series DVD set that also includes Brides of Dracula, Curse of the Werewolf, Phantom of the Opera, Paranoiac, Kiss of the Vampire, Nightmare, and Evil of Frankenstein. It's been out for about 3 years now.
Looking forward to this. I've seen Terror of the Tongs, but that's about it.
According to the source that I first heard about this set, Sony's also planning a second box set featuring Lee and Cushing.

Thanks for the info Ron!
You're welcome.
The titles hinted at for the second set: The Gorgon, Two Faces of Dr.Jekyll, Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, and Taste of Fear, but it's not confirmed.
Been enjoying your blog by the way, keep up the good work.

The Gorgon would be great... hell any of them.
Thanks again Ron.
