Happy Birthday, Bela! When will Island of Lost Souls be released on dvd? What are some of your favorite movies Lugosi is in? 3 off the top of my head I really like:
The Black Cat
The Raven
The Body Snatchers
The Devil Bat cracks me up. I must admit to popping that one in from time to time.

I gotta admit he was the least skilled and most hammy of the classic horror stars, but he still could carry a picture the way Kane Hodder or one of todays "horror stars" can't,my top 5 would be: SON OF FRANKENSTEIN,THE RAVEN,THE DEVIL BAT,THE BLACK CAT('34),and though i don't like the film itself,MARK OF THE VAMPIRE("I gabe all uff me,i vas morr reel dan any reel vampire!").

One of my favorite hammy perfomances of Lugosi's is in The Phantom Creeps.

Definitely Black Cat '34, and since nobody else mentioned it yet Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. He's actually pretty damn good in Bride of the Monster too despite every other aspect of the film working against him.

And least we forgot some of his insanely hilarious dialog in Glen or Glenda. "Pull the strings!"

I think one of his best performances is in The Invisible Ray.
