William Castle (TRAILERS)

William Castle was one of a handful of great directors who actually made films in the 50's and 60's that were generally both fun and spooky (and felt just like pre-code horror comics come to life!) This great clip presents Castle himself introducing 3 different trailers from some of his best films: The Tingler, House on Haunted Hill, and 13 Ghosts... and all 3 featured wild gimmicks like "Percepto", "Illusion-O", and "Emergo" that audience members would actually see, feel, and experience for real while watching the film!

Ever see SHANKS?

I have Shanks on vhs... for Castle's last film it's not bad, but to be honest the premise sounds alot better than the finished product delivers. Still worth a peak if you're a Castle fan (or a Marcel Marceau fan.)

Another fun / obscure Castle film is Let's Kill Uncle '66 which is sort of hard to find too for some reason... and 13 Frightened Girls '63 is another good one that's a bit rare as well.

Anybody have a copy of The Spirit Is Willing '67? That's one I've never been able to find, supposedly it's a horror comedy and stars Sid Caesar and Vera Miles. The tagline says, "The first picture to face the biggest problem of our time: the sex life of ghosts!" Sounds essential!
