Spook Show Spectacular (VIDEO)

Back in the day, when kids weren't scaring themselves silly reading pre-code horror comics they were usually attending live "in-person" spookshows for a real thrill!

Anyone who asks me what this has to do with pre-code horror comics will quickly be decapitated.

would love if some theatre in my area had the balls to put on shows like this again..... i've seen online that there are traveling acts that still do spookshows but only in big cities like LA and NY

Yeah, it's nice when theatres even bother to do horror themed movie fests anymore. The closet thing I remember from my childhood was dusk to dawn horror shows at South Twin drive-in the 70's. Last year I went to the 8 Films To Die For fest, and though 7 out of the 8 films were utter shit (as most new horror films are) it was still fun to just hang in a dark theatre all day with your friends and eat candy. I can only imagine how much fun some of these old 50's spookshows were with skeletons popping up behind you and monsters running up and down the isles grabbing screaming girls. But as in most cases, these old intermission films are probably more fun than the actual event though.
